WHAT IS STIM?
STiM Promo Video from Steven Vanderworp on Vimeo.
Are you ready to grow in your discipleship of Jesus? In your cultural, emotional, and spiritual maturity? Would you like to discover with us how to build relationships of trust across cultures? Would you like to be equipped as a global Christian, ready to know and love and serve our global God? Then consider STiM.
STiM is a training-intensive designed by missionaries and IV staff to disciple students in missional living. In the short-term, the cross-cultural training, immersive simulations, Biblical teaching, and deep community will equip you to thrive during your summer program. Long-term, you'll find that STiM aligns your whole self, from life-goals to daily habits, with the Father's mission.
STiM includes four weekends of training and a 4-8 week summer program. When you apply and are accepted to the STiM program we will place you on a summer program like the Little Rock Justice Program, the Global Urban Trek, Village Schools International, and Kenya Global Program.

MISSIONS COHORT 2024
This year for STiM, in addition to approved applicants, we are offering free attendance (2 nights + meals) to STiM 1 for all interested students. You will receive a great discipleship experience, cross-cultural training, and a deep, Biblical overview of God's global call to missions. There are no strings attached to attending the weekend, but if you decide you would like to continue with STiM, you can apply after STiM 1 and be considered for future weekends and a summer program. There are some parameters for students coming:
PLEASE NOTE: Some summer programs may be closed (no longer taking new applicants) by February. If you are planning on applying to the STiM program, go ahead and do so through the normal application process instead of “trying out” STiM through this option. “Trying out” STiM through this opportunity will delay some of your training and could prevent you from going on certain summer programs with earlier registration deadlines, so we highly encourage you to apply ahead of time. That said, if you are truly “on the fence”, this opportunity may be a good fit for you to expose you to some of what missions and STiM have to offer!

- You are open to summer missions.
- You are willing to navigate an intensive training weekend and understand STiM is a challenging spiritual retreat/training (not just "something to do" for a weekend).
- You understand the purpose and nature of STiM: Deep Biblical engagement with missions, intensive cross-cultural ministry training, and challenging personal discipleship.
