The Little Rock Urban Program is a 6-7 week justice program that develops students to gain God’s heart for Justice and reconciliation on a personal, relational, and systemic level. Students in this program will partner with a variety of ministries and churches to bring restoration to the city in a variety of spaces. From working with students in a K-12 environment to serving immigrants in their journey to gain legal status in the US, Participants in LRUP Summer should expect to experience exposure to the way systemic issues affect individuals and communities.
Distinguishing Features
Some distinguishing features of this program, is the emphasis on the way Churches engage with justice issues in a holistic fashion. Students will witness how Christians creatively serve the material, relational, and spiritual needs of those on the margins while rooted in the scriptures. Not only that, but students will also receive extensive discipleship and investment by InterVarsity staff and ministry partners to become more holistic and mature disciples of Jesus.
Week to Week
A typical week in LRUP Summer will include a 32 hr internship on top of evening bible studies and weekend discipleship intensives. Expect regular communal rhythms that include meals, prayer, spiritual disciplines, and a lot of fellowship!

How to apply:
- Complete the initial application
- Complete the short answer application and send it to [email protected]
- Submit two references: (1) staff worker or other spiritual mentor & (2) Peer
- Daily ministry with community-based organizations,
- Weekly gatherings for teaching and training,
- Weekly Bible study,
- Regular movie nights,
- Topical immersion weekends.
