Borderlands Summer Program
Dates: June 3-July 15
Cost: $3200
Transportation: Students will drive their own cars.
How to apply:
The Borderlands Summer Justice Program is InterVarsity’s six-week intensive immersion experience in which college students from the Red River Region join together as an intimate community on mission seeking the Kingdom of God amidst border communities. Students will partner with community-based non-profits to grow in their understanding of the Gospel and its implications for the city, serve the needs of migrant communities, and allow their experience to shape them as spiritual leaders and world changing people of influence at home, on campus, and beyond.
Through Borderlands, participants will experience loving those on the margins by looking at the issue of immigration through scripture study, service in the community, and learning from experienced teachers in the field.
Students will live together, learn, and volunteer over 120 hours of service with local churches and non profits. Our curriculum includes weekly studies, focusing on the subjects of the Gospel, evangelism, prayer, social justice, communal living, shalom theology, racial reconciliation, ethnic identity and stewardship.
You’ll walk alongside Jesus as he feeds the hungry, gives drink to the thirsty, clothes the naked, invites in the stranger, takes care of the sick, visits the prisoner, and calls himself one of them (Matthew 25:31 – 46).
Scholarship, course credit, or paid internship questions can be sent jacob.foor@intervarsity.org
