Saturday Serving Locations

Please do not switch family groups/locations - we committed to a certain number of individual at each serving location.

After you finish, please drive to Redeemer Presbyterian Church: 2111 Alexander Ave Austin, TX 78722 for lunch and our closing session together.

Angel House Soup Kitchen

Angel House’ is the Soup Kitchen Ministry of the Austin Baptist Chapel. The Soup Kitchen is a human service organization of caring and loving people. We serve the poor who suffer from the lack of basic human needs: material needs, such as food, clothing, and household necessities; psychological needs, such as motivation, self-esteem, and rehabilitation; and social needs, such as support systems and meaningful relationships.

You will be helping with their clothing room and preparing food for their mealtime. Please check out their site and read their volunteer guidelines - http://www.angelhouse-abc.com/volunteer.html.

Please dress modestly and wear close toes shoes.

Also if you have donations of men's clothing (no suits) and used shoes, please bring them.

Austin Graffiti Abatement

The Graffiti Abatement program removes graffiti from private and public property anywhere in the City of Austin. You help paint over reported graffiti in Austin.

Wear clothes/shoes you would not mind getting paint on.

Casa Marianella

Casa Marianella is a volunteer-driven emergency homeless shelter in east Austin, serving recently-arrived immigrants and asylum seekers from around the world.

Wear clothes/shoes you would not mind getting dirty.

Chicon Pregnancy Resouce Center

The Chicon Pregnancy Resource Center exists to change and save lives by sharing positive solutions surrounding unexpected pregnancy by modeling the love of Jesus Christ. We also offer compassionate lay-ministry while providing resources to empower women and men to make life-affirming decisions.

Dress comfortably but in a respectable way. We will be handing out flyers and cleaning the center.

El Buen Samaritano Garden

El Buen Samaritano is an outreach ministry committed to helping Latino and other families in Central Texas lead healthy, productive, and secure lives through high quality and affordable healthcare, education, and financial security services. They run community gardens available for families with no access to gardening space, funds, materials, or knowledge to start a garden. We will help with watering, weeding and mulching during our time here

Wear clothes/shoes you would not mind getting dirty. Please bring gardening gloves if you own some.

Monte Siesta Nursing Home

Monte Siesta Nursing & Rehabilitation offers short-term respite care. Stay as short as three days or as long as a month or more. They will enjoy meeting new people and participating in a variety of activities, as they receive daily respite care.

You will be playing games, reading, and helping feed some of the residents. They ask that we do NOT take any pictures of the residents.

River City Hope Street - Life Bridge
 

The purpose of Life Bridge Job Corps is to provide a Christian context in which families in need are equipped for life and employment and a missions context in which Christians serve their community.

We will be painting a large room, painting a garage, clearing trails, trimming trees, and filling the path with gravel because they are preparing for a fun run event in October which will raise funds for their work with refugees.

Wear clothes/shoes you would not mind getting paint on or dirty.
